The Craftsmen

Jesse Hatcher :
Bladesmithing fell upon me with the desire to re-purpose materials into new and useful tools. Through my research and practice, I have found that not all steel going into a great blade can be salvaged but I still strive to create and build with materials that would otherwise go to waste. Offering a limited range of well known and tried steels, I am able to provide quality blades at the top of their performance.

Don Hatcher:
Retiring after serving six years in the Air Force, and nearly 30 years working for the US Navy in a medical research lab, I began looking for hobbies to keep me busy. I started doing the usual retirement activities, such as, playing guitar, fishing and golfing. In addition, I am an amateur baseball umpire and have been for nearly 40 years. However, a new hobby was presented to me in the form of leather working. My son, Jesse, started making hand forged knives. I realized that buyers would not be getting a sheath in which to carry their blade, so I suggested that I make a sheath to go with the knife. Well, one thing led to another, and before I knew it, I had a full blown leather shop and was making, not only knife sheaths, but also, belts, holsters, guitar straps, hair berets, and other cool stuff! My goal is to make you an item that will last forever and I look forward to making you something you will cherish for a long time.
